First Capital Holdings PLC, a subsidiary of JXG (Janashakthi Group), continues to strengthen its commitment to financial literacy through First Capital investED—a dynamic initiative that has already educated over 1,775 university students across Sri Lanka. This programme is specifically crafted to help students understand different investment opportunities and take their first steps toward building long-term financial security.

The idea for First Capital investED emerged from a clear need to bridge the financial literacy gap among young adults. As part of its broader sustainability and inclusion agenda, First Capital recognized the importance of empowering university students with the tools and knowledge needed to make confident financial decisions from the outset of their professional journeys.

Through engaging one-hour sessions, students are introduced to practical concepts such as financial discipline, money management, long-term wealth creation, and goal setting. The programme also addresses how to navigate investments through market volatility—ensuring participants are better prepared to manage real-world financial challenges. A lively interactive quiz at the end of each session reinforces learning outcomes and encourages active participation.

The programme has been successfully rolled out at leading institutions including the University of Colombo, University of Kelaniya, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, NSBM Green University, University of Moratuwa, and SLIIT Business School. The response from both students and faculty has been overwhelmingly positive, reaffirming the relevance and value of the initiative.

Universities interested in offering First Capital investED to their students can contact 076 960 3083 for more information on how to host a session. Through this effort, First Capital continues to pave the way for a more financially informed generation—equipped to build wealth wisely and sustainably.
