MAS Holdings was honoured with three prestigious Gold Awards at the AICPA & CIMA – JXP Pinnacle Awards, 2025, held on 11 June at Cinnamon Life, Colombo, celebrating corporate and leadership excellence in finance, sustainability and inclusion. The event spotlighted emerging industry leaders and innovative organisations shaping the future of Sri Lanka’s business landscape.

Surath Chandrasena, Director – Group Finance at MAS Holdings, received the Gold Award for Chief Financial Officer of the Year. The company received ESG / Sustainability Champion of the Year – Gold; and DEI Champion of the Year – Gold, reflecting MAS’ leadership across these key areas of responsible business. Additionally, Asanka Samarasekera was recognised with Business Manager of the Year – Bronze.

Surath has played a key role in driving financial and strategic transformation across MAS, taking on leadership roles across multiple business units during his 15-year tenure at the company. He held several leadership roles at MAS Intimates, including Financial Controller, before going on to serve as Director of Finance, Strategy, Information Technology, and Sustainability at Bodyline, where he successfully led a major turnaround. He is also a lecturer at CIMA, the Chartered Institute for Management Accountants, contributing to the development of future finance professionals.

These accolades reflect not only MAS’ strong financial governance, but also several of the company’s core values, including its longstanding commitment to sustainability and building a culture of inclusion. MAS’ efforts to drive positive impact are outlined in the sustainability strategy, the MAS Plan for Change: a commitment to inspire sustainable change within the areas of product, lives, and our planet. Recognition in the areas of ESG and DEI efforts reflect the progress and strong momentum made across key impact areas- delivering sustainable product and solutions, empowering women, enabling meaningful employment, and fostering thriving communities and sustainable operations.

The return of the Pinnacle Awards after 18 years makes these wins especially significant, marking a renewed benchmark for excellence in Sri Lanka’s business and finance community.
