Renowned Orthopedic expert Dr. Gurpal Singh recently completed a series of patient education sessions powered by the Sri Lanka office of IHH Healthcare Singapore in partnership with Hatton National Bank (HNB). This collaborative program was designed to empower patients and the community with knowledge on orthopedic health, treatment options, and global best practices in patient care, while raising awareness on the importance of early intervention and advanced treatment methods.

Commenting, Country Head (Sri Lanka), IHH Patient Assistant center Singapore, Colombo office – Shuvo Hridayesh noted: “With Sri Lanka continuing to face the growing burden of non-communicable diseases, including musculoskeletal conditions and chronic orthopedic issues, Dr. Singh’s sessions provided a much-needed perspective on how international health systems are adapting to manage similar challenges.”
Dr Singh delved into – Faster recovery times through access to advanced treatment options; Reduced pain and complications with minimally invasive approaches; Greater confidence in seeking care through informed decision-making; and Improved quality of life by understanding symptoms early and taking action.

“Today’s healthcare must be built around informed patients,” said Dr. Singh. “When individuals understand their conditions and treatment options, they take charge of their health – and that’s when real transformation happens.”
This initiative is part of a broader mission by IHH Healthcare and HNB to empower Sri Lankan communities through health education, innovation, and global collaboration. For anyone experiencing joint pain or orthopedic challenges, efforts like these offer not only knowledge—but also hope for a healthier, more active life.
