Bureau Veritas wins Silver Award for Best Private Institution that Contributes to the Environment

Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services Lanka (Pvt.) Ltd, part of Bureau Veritas, a world leader in laboratory testing, inspection and certification services with 1,600 offices and laboratories around the globe, recently won a Silver Award under ‘‘Best Private Institution that Contributes to the Environment,’’ reassuring its commitment towards the environment and helping clients from diverse industry sectors in their sustainability agenda.

Organised by the Central Environmental Authority (CEA), the Presidential Environment Awards 2024 held under the patronage of President of Sri Lanka, is a major social-centered program that recognizes various efforts by industries, businesses, institutions, and individuals towards environmental conservation, to foster and encourage society’s participation towards sustainable development and practices.

The award stands as a testament to BV CPS Sri Lanka’s pledge to uphold and enhance their clients’ performance by offering services and innovative solutions to ensure that their assets, products, infrastructure, and processes meet standards and regulations in terms of quality, health and safety, environmental protection and social responsibility.

The award was accepted by BV CPS Sri Lanka officials, namely Selliah Vigneshwaran, Financial Controller; Buddhika Jayathilake, HSSE & Sustainability Leadership; and Sayuri Gangani, Assistant Manager Business Development – Food and Agriculture.

Held for the first time, the ISGSD’s awards segment received a significant number of applicants from various industries including institutions, media, and the social sector. BV CPS Sri Lanka’s recognition came under the Environmentally Friendly Private Institutions category, and a special commendation goes to Buddhika Jayathilake who was instrumental in the submission.
