In a landmark initiative for children battling critical illnesses in Sri Lanka, Citrus Leisure PLC and Indira Cancer Trust (ICT), which hosts Make-A-Wish Sri Lanka, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on providing memorable family experiences every month.

Under the MoU, Citrus Leisure PLC will sponsor a monthly celebratory buffet meal and hospitality experience at the iconic Blue Orbit by Citrus, located at Colombo Lotus Tower, designed to bring joy, comfort, and dignity to wish children and their families as part of their “Wish Day”.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Chandana Talwatte, Director/CEO of Citrus Leisure PLC, expressed his company’s commitment:
“We are honoured to be part of this meaningful partnership that brings hope and happiness to children who need it the most. As a Sri Lankan hospitality brand, it is our privilege to use our spaces to create beautiful memories for these families.”
Dr. Lanka Jayasuriya-Dissanayake, Chairperson of Indira Cancer Trust and Suwa Arana shared her thoughts:
“This partnership with Citrus is a beautiful example of corporate compassion in action. For a child who is unwell, a special day spent with family in a joyful environment can uplift spirits, restore hope, and even strengthen the will to fight. We are deeply grateful to Citrus for embracing this vision.”
A Transformative Experience Every Month
Each month, approximately 8 to 10 guests, including the wish child, their immediate family, and a Make-A-Wish representative, will be welcomed at the Blue Orbit by Citrus buffet restaurant for an evening of activities. The agenda includes a visit to the 3D immersive experience and viewing deck, a celebratory buffet dinner, a gift or souvenir moment, and a commemorative photograph, ensuring the day becomes a cherished memory for the child and their loved ones.
The partnership is set to continue for one year, with the intention to renew it annually. It represents a unique collaboration between the hospitality sector and a leading health-focused non-profit to create a sustainable model of joy-giving in Sri Lanka.
