Empire Teas Pvt. Ltd. invited its international partners to Sri Lanka for a series of events, including visits to tea production facilities and cultural landmarks, in celebration of its 25th anniversary. The programme began with the arrival of guests from around the world, many of whom have sourced Ceylon tea from Empire for decades. Their stay included visits to the company’s head office, blending and packaging facilities, and meetings with the teams responsible for bringing each brand to life. Partners also spent time in the tea gardens, seeing first-hand the plucking and processing of tea leaves before visiting the historic Galle Fort. Traditional cultural dances, drummers, and performances offered a glimpse into Sri Lanka’s cultural heritage. The final gala dinner in Colombo brought together all stakeholders including overseas buyers, local partners, and employees.

The celebrations recognised long-standing relationships built over the company’s 25-year journey. Dr. Narayan from Russia, among the first to import Hyson, has worked with Empire for 22 years, praising its consistency in quality and supply. Olga, another Russian partner of more than two decades, described the partnership as a friendship, while Mohammed from Gambia commended Empire’s business excellence and reliability, expressing hopes to join future milestones. Founded in Sri Lanka with the vision of sharing the finest Ceylon tea globally, Empire Teas has grown into a trusted name in over 70 countries. Its brands, Hyson, Thurson, Akina, and Tea Avenue, carry stories and traditions across continents. “When we started, all we had was a dream and a deep love for tea. We are honoured to be the strength behind so many unique tea brands. We plan to continue nurturing partnerships and delivering the quality and authenticity that have defined our successful journey so far.” said Founder and Managing Director Lushantha de Silva.
