The Only Renewable Energy Brand to Make the List
Hayleys Solar, Sri Lanka’s No.1 solar solutions provider, has been recognised as one of LMD’s Most Loved Brands for 2025, making history as the only renewable energy brand to earn this prestigious honour.

The accolade marks a pivotal moment for Sri Lanka’s clean energy sector, reflecting both public trust in Hayleys Solar and broader national momentum toward renewable energy adoption.
Founded in 2011 as Fentons Solar Energy and rebranded in 2019 following the Hayleys Group’s acquisition of Fentons in 2016, Hayleys Solar has evolved from a traditional EPC contractor into a market leader in renewable energy. From an initial 3% market share, the company has grown to command a dominant 25% share of the market and is on track to become the first Sri Lankan company to surpass 500 MW in total solar installations.
Since rebranding, Hayleys Solar has earned the trust of over 12,000 residential customers, introduced advanced off-grid battery and hybrid solutions and played a crucial role during Sri sLanka’s power crisis by powering 1,050 telecom towers. As part of its 200MW milestone in 2024, Hayleys Solar pledged to donate 200 solar systems to care homes across Sri Lanka, under the Soorya Sathkara CSR programme.
Reflecting on the achievement, Hasith Prematillake, Managing Director of Hayleys Fentons Limited, stated: “This recognition is a powerful testament to the trust Sri Lankans have placed in us. As the only renewable energy brand to be featured, it validates our long-term strategy to make clean energy more accessible, reliable, and future-ready. We’re building energy independence for thousands across the country.”
Roshane Perera, Director/CEO of Hayleys Solar, added: “When your brand is loved, your mission is validated. This recognition belongs to every Sri Lankan choosing a cleaner, smarter future.”
Hayleys Solar has delivered several industry firsts, including Sri Lanka’s largest 2 MWh battery energy storage system and the country’s largest single-roof solar installation (6.9 MW), completed in under 100 days. The company also pioneered an agrivoltaic project, installing semi-transparent solar panels on tea estates, in collaboration with the Asian Development Bank and the University of Peradeniya.
Now firmly established as a trusted household brand with a growing international presence, Hayleys Solar partners with global leaders such as BYD, JA Solar, SolaX, among others. Its commitment to sustainability was reflected through back-to-back wins of the SLIM Green Brand of the Year.
Hayleys Solar is well-positioned to lead Sri Lanka’s energy transition. Its focus on hybrid systems and battery integration empowers Sri Lankans to become energy “prosumers,” generating and selling electricity to the grid.
This recognition by LMD reflects more than just another corporate milestone for Hayleys Solar, it signals Sri Lanka’s readiness to embrace clean energy and a more sustainable tomorrow.
