Kandy marks the start of the second phase of the “Haritha Nana” scholarship program from People’s Leasing

Committed to the national priority of uplifting skilled labour of youth in the national labor force, People’s Leasing & Finance PLC (PLC), the pioneer Non-Bank Financial Institution (NBFI) in Sri Lanka, has launched a CSR initiative to uplift the knowledge of Hybrid Automobile Technology (HAT) by awarding 50 scholarships to the youth partnered with the Vocational Training Authority of Sri Lanka (VTA).

As a result, PLC implemented the second phase of the Haritha Nana scholarship program, concentrating on the Kandy area. The program was initiated to foster financial literacy and entrepreneurship abilities.

The induction program was held on 15, December 2022 at Katugastota Vocational Training Center premises under the patronage of Hishan Welmilla, Manager – Marketing, Communication and Sustainability of PLC, Senaka Munasinghe, Branch Manager of PLC Kandy Branch, Mohammad Amin, Manager of PLC Kandy Alsafa Branch , Upul Shantha, Manager of PLC Pilimathalawa Branch, Rohan Priyantha, Deputy Director of Sri Lanka Vocational Training Authority (Kandy region), U.G.S. Manike, Project Officer of Vocational Training Center of Katugastota, representatives of  Vocational Training Centers in Kandy region, PLC Katugastota Branch, PLC Head Office and other academic departments also participated in the event. 

16 youth received scholarships to follow the Hybrid Automobile Technology in the Kandy region program and the induction program was held for the first batch of youth in Colombo recently.
