Kaushala Amarasekara Honoured Among Top Businesswomen of 2025 in Recognition of Marketing Leadership

At a ceremony held recently at the Hilton Colombo, Kaushala Amarasekara, General Manager of Branding, Communications and Loyalty at Hutchison Telecommunication Lanka (Pvt) Ltd, won the Excellence in Marketing award, selected by an independent judging panel, and was named by Global CEO Magazine as one of its Top Businesswomen of 2025. These accolades celebrate her visionary leadership in marketing, her success in steering strategic brand transformation and her significant contribution to the growth of Sri Lanka’s telecommunications sector.

A dynamic and results-driven marketing professional with 20 years of experience, Kaushala has consistently delivered bold, consumer-centric campaigns that have enhanced brand relevance and driven measurable business results. Her work spans multiple sectors, such as energy and insurance, with a strong focus on the telco industry, where her leadership has driven transformative marketing initiatives and strengthened stakeholder engagement.

Commenting on the recognition, Kaushala said, “This honour is truly humbling. Kaushala played a pivotal role as Project Chair of the Effie Awards Sri Lanka, conducted through SLIM, where she championed creativity, effectiveness, and excellence in advertising. She also led the prestigious DIGIS 2.4 Awards, Sri Lanka’s benchmark event for digital innovation, which reached record-breaking participation and further positioned the platform as a national-level force for digital progress.

Her achievements have been further recognised through prestigious accolades, the Emerging Manager of the Year Award and the CGMA Professional Award – Asia Pacific for Digital Transformation, which honoured her strategic and technological contributions that bridged business innovation with human insight. Kaushala’s recognition by Global CEO Magazine highlights her influential role in shaping Sri Lanka’s modern marketing landscape.
