Sarvodaya Development Finance PLC recently conducted its overseas tour competition, an internal initiative aimed at inspiring, recognising, and rewarding exceptional performances amongst its staff. The competition evaluated participants based on specific criteria relevant to their respective roles. Accordingly, Business Development Officers, Branch Managers, and Regional Managers were assessed on business volumes, portfolio growth, and collections over the last twelve months. Meanwhile, Recovery team were judged on their collection ratios and non-performing loan (NPL) reduction metrics, while Gold Loan Officers were evaluated based on portfolio growth during the year.
From a pool of candidates across 56 branches, 21 individuals emerged as top performers for the financial year 2023/24. Notably, the majority of these outstanding performers hailed from outstation branches, demonstrating the widespread talent and dedication within the organisation. As a generous reward, these outstanding individuals enjoyed a fully-sponsored, four-day tour to Bangkok, Thailand, inclusive of a 3-night stay at a luxury hotel. For many, this trip marked their first international travel experience, adding to the excitement and enjoyment of the journey. The highlight of the tour was a full day at Dreamworld, a popular amusement park, which provided a fun and memorable experience for the whole team. In addition, the staff had the opportunity to explore various attractions in Bangkok, indulge in the local cuisine, and enjoy the vibrant shopping scene.
The Competition is designed not only to reward high achievers but also to motivate the whole organisation to strive for excellence. This initiative thus aligns with Sarvodaya Development Finance PLC’s commitment to recognising and fostering talent within its workforce. The event was a resounding success, with participants returning to Sri Lanka with unforgettable memories and a renewed drive to excel. Furthermore, the company intends to make the many Competitions an annual events, further strengthening its culture of achievement and recognition.
