Ensuring access to digital solutions for everyone, SLT-MOBITEL, together with Sri Lanka Railways and Department of Pensions enabled pensioners to enjoy a seamless railway transport experience by integrating the pension warrant process to SLT-MOBITEL’s state of the art mTicketing platform.
Launching the digitalization of the pension warrant took place recently at the Colombo Divisional Secretariat with senior representatives from State institutions, Sri Lanka Railways, the Department of Pensions, and SLT-MOBITEL in attendance.
Previously, eTickets and eWarrant were available for public and government servants through SLT-MOBITEL’s fully-fledged digital system to reserve tickets online. Symbolizing an important advancement in the modernization of railway services in Sri Lanka, now pensioners too can book train tickets conveniently from the comfort of their homes through the user-friendly digital platform.
SLT-MOBITEL as the National ICT Solutions Provider is proud to extend digital solutions to serve the nation’s pensioners. The initiative demonstrates the company’s commitment to digital transformation while extending appreciation for the years of service pensioners have unstintingly given towards the country.
The launch builds on the success of SLT-MOBITEL’s online reservation system unveiled last year for general passengers. The extension to include pension warrants represents an important step forward to ensure that railway ticketing is now completely digitalized for all user segments.
The initiative is also part of SLT-MOBITEL’s broader pledge to support Sri Lanka’s digital transformation journey, particularly in digitalizing state-owned enterprises through superior connectivity solutions. The initiative aligns with the national vision of creating a Digital Sri Lanka, making essential services more accessible and convenient for all citizens.
