Bank also ranked among the ‘40 Best Workplaces in Sri Lanka for 2021’
Standard Chartered Sri Lanka has been Great Place to Work® certified for the third consecutive year, in 2021, the Bank announced recently. Standard Chartered Sri Lanka is the third country office within the Standard Chartered Global Network to receive the certification, alongside the USA and India offices.
Additionally, Standard Chartered Sri Lanka was named one of the ‘40 Best Workplaces in Sri Lanka for 2021’, the first in the Standard Chartered Global Network to achieve this feat. This year, the esteemed national list was compiled based on a new and enhanced fundamental trust-based model to differentiate the elite ‘Best Workplaces’ from certified ‘Great Workplaces’.
“Standard Chartered is an inclusive workplace that puts great emphasis on the employee experience for each member of our team. It is a validation of our corporate culture, people strategies and management practices to be recognised as a great place to work in Sri Lanka for three consecutive years. Especially coming out of one of the most challenging years in living history, being recognised as a great place to work is all the more rewarding,” Bingumal Thewarathanthri, Chief Executive Officer, Standard Chartered Sri Lanka stated, commenting on the award.
Ransi Dharmasiriwardhana, Head of Human Resources, Standard Chartered Sri Lanka emphasised, “Three years ago, Standard Chartered Sri Lanka embarked on a journey to develop a transparent, consistent yet most importantly people-centric culture and I am proud to see the incremental results of our actions through the recent inclusion into the national 40 Best Workplaces list and to be the only branch from our network of 59 markets to do so. Our unique culture is built on the inclusivity, employee experience and our employee value proposition and this is what sets us apart and makes us a great workplace!”
With its global expertise in recognising workplace standards, Great Place to Work® provides the ultimate benchmark to test and recognise outstanding workplaces.
“A people first culture, synergy between employer and employee, and the belief in employees that they work at a great place have a direct correlation to the productivity and efficiency of an organisation, as much as it does on morale and attitude. Organisations such as Standard Chartered which continue to be great places to work, set the bar high and create truly aspirational workplaces.” Kshanika Ratnayake, CEO of Great Place to Work® in Sri Lanka stated, on the certification.
Great Place to Work® recognises the best employers in the market they operate in, following a robust review system examining all aspects of the workplace experience for the employees. Standard Chartered Sri Lanka met the required global assessment standards required to be Great Place to Work-Certified™ in Sri Lanka, for the period of April 2021 to March 2022.
